Why would you pay $129 for a keyboard without lettering?
I look down at the keyboard while typing and find it difficult not to. Yet this company charges $129 for a keyboard with no labels at all!
Sure, it makes a click sound so part of the price is for that. But how do you explain leaving out labels? The only answer is that it sends an unfakeable signal about it’s owner: this guy doesn’t need to look down while typing. And that’s what some of the premium is for.
Another example that came to my attention: Firefox bicycles don’t have carrier pads or mudgaurds, which lower end bikes do; serious mountain bikers don’t need them and this signals it.
Can you think of other products that have features removed to signal highended-ness?
