North Korea is partially opening up to foreign investment.

Reading the stories that have come out of NK since loss of it’s supporters in China and Russia since 1989, the surprising thing is that it’s lasted as long as it has, lending some credence to Heilbroner’s declaration that the state can survive without an economy but not vice versa.

(Of course, Somalia is the exception to the “not vice versa” rule)
